  1. Product search.
    Products can be searched for Category, Manufacturer or keyword input.

  2. Add items via forms.
    A details page can contain a single item. After adding a form to the page, the item can be added to cart. Typically, one would allow users to interact with the web page with dropdown lists for colors, sizes etc.

  3. Add multiple items to the cart at the same time.
    There is a sample page to allow users to add multiple items to the cart at the same time. Developers can study the code and integrate the functionality into their own applications if required.

  4. Unlimited category hierarchy
    One can have a category/subcategory structure of unlimited depth. Subcategories, Sub-subcategories etc

  5. Line item discounts.
    Line item discounting is a complex concept. In the demo database, there are fields called Price, Break1, Price2, Break2, Price3, and Break3. By populating these fields, developers can specify that different products have different discounts depending on the quantity.

  6. Multiple Payment Processing Options
    can be integrated with all major Payment processing eg. PAYPAL, SECPAY and WORLDPAY, VERISIGN, etc.
    By default, customers will be taken to an Order Confirmed page after submitting an order.

  7. Best sellers.
    Use a query of the Orders to display the best selling products.

  8. Cross-selling.
    A bit like Amazon's "People who bought this item also bought these items..."

  9. Related products.
    Ability to group products together.

  10. Special offers.
    In the Admin section, one can specify which product(s) are to be special offers. These products are then shown on the home page.

  11. Product reviews.
    Allows users of the site to post reviews. The review can then be administered through the admin section. Reviews can be approved or deleted.

  12. Simple stock control.
    An admin page to show how many products have been bought. This could be extended to not show certain products if they are out of stock.

  13. Simple Affiliate system.
    A simple system to track customers. Those customers who buy products through an affiliate link will have the information recorded in the database. There is also an Admin page to show stats for each affiliate. How much they have earned.

  14. User registration.
    The customer experience can be personalized by allowing them to register. Upon returning to the website, customers can login.

  15. Email friend feature.
    Function for users to send products of interest to their friends.

  16. View order history.
    Returning customers can login and view details of all their previous orders.

  17. Forgotten password feature.
    Functions for customers to retrieve their password.

  18. Search for orders/customers and export to Excel.
    Manage orders and customers offline by downloading all the information from the remote Access database into an Excel spreadsheet.

  19. Mailing list.
    Send a newsletter to registered customers.

  20. Insert/update/delete products in the database.
    Ability for Administrators to manage all aspects of the products system via an online browser.
